Dr. Ellen C. Alpano
Dr. Ellen C. Alpano is a board-certified pediatric dentist and has been in practice since 2005 in Arizona, Maryland, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and now, Virginia.
Becoming a dentist has been her dream since childhood. She started her academic journey when she received her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland College Park in 2001. She then moved to New York where she completed her dental degree at Columbia University School of Dental Medicine in 2005. One of her passions is to use dentistry as a means to serve others so after graduation, she served as a dentist with the Indian Health Service amongst the Hopi tribe in Polacca, Arizona. While living among the Native Americans, she discovered her passion to serve the children since dental caries was so rampant among the Hopi children. So in 2007, she returned to her home state of Maryland and pursued her pediatric dental certificate at the University of Maryland, where she was selected as Chief Resident during her second year. Dentistry brought her to New England for work but after practicing in the Northeast for 12 years, her husband and her decided to live closer to family and they moved to Virginia in 2022.
Dr. Alpano lives locally with her husband and two children. She loves to talk football but most of all, she loves to seek out authentic international food. She is truly blessed to call Caring for Kids as her new work-home.
